The Lindy 100m USB 2.0 Cat.6 Extender can be used to extend the distance between a USB peripheral device and host computer by up to 100m. It consists of a transmitter unit which connects to the computer and a receiver unit that connects to the device.

Standard Cat.5e/6 network cable (not included) is then used to bridge the connection between the two units. For best performance and compatibility, we recommend the use of solid core patched cables. For added convenience this USB 2.0 Extender is supplied with a power supply, which can be connected should additional power be required.

Este dispositivo possibilita estender o sinal USB (normalmente limitado a 5 metros) até uma distância máxima de 100 metros, sendo por isso constituido por um transmissor e um receptor.
O seu funcionamento é muito simples: Utiliza o transmissor que converte o sinal USB em cabo de rede (não incluído), sendo o mesmo utilizado para fazer a distância que precisa, até 100 metros. No final do cabo utiliza o receptor que vai converter novamente o sinal de rede para USB.
Em suma, permite ter 1 dispositivo USB (impressora, web cam, pen drive, etc) até 100 metros de distância. Não permite a ligacao de um Hub USB para abrir mais portas USB na ponta.
